No one knows the exact age of the human race, but everyone agrees it's old enough to know better.

We are, I think, maturing... It's just happening on a geological time scale. We are certainly more mature than we were in the dark ages, and it seems likely that we are more mature than we were a mere hundred years ago. I'm just not sure why it takes multiple generations to mature mankind when it only takes years to mature us on an individual basis.
